Out for a walk this morning after two days of rain… Mushrooms are loving the weather right now! Yellow Gym, Bleeding Mycena, Earthstars (about to pop!), Chanterelles, Coral fungi, and plenty of Amanitas to be found. I came home to find a FB memory from nine years ago today… I was doing the same thing then but with my beautiful companion, Mari. We still miss her so much.

Everyone in the family is excited about our new, slim, under-the counter-trash can with a butterfly lid. Well, almost everybody… It just depends on where you usually find your snacks. Poor Gracie. #simplehuman

Pinesap is a non-photosynthetic flowering plant with a high coolness factor (at least in my world😊.)

These large, warty, Amanita mushrooms are a September staple in local woods, but they are only fun to look at… Beware! #poisonousmushrooms

Mom's been gone for a couple of weeks. Finally, we got out to the woods again!

I love this time of year for the way that light dances with color.
