A Blue Jay under cloudy skies, seven ways. #bluejay

HOW MANY DAYS has it been raining??? TOO many!

Taller and longer than a typical blackbird, Grackles are also distinctive for their luminous iridescence. They generally eat insects in the summer (which is a good thing!), but they aren't above picking up an easy meal in a parking lot or bird feeder (which maybe isn't such a good thing). What's the saying... Ya gotta take the good with the bad?

You'll always find a couple of domestic "knob geese" at the VT Duck Pond. They are notably loud, aggressive, and beautiful.

The world is suddenly filled with precious offspring. There are bellies to be filled and lessons to be taught, day and night. Cheers to the hard-working parents!
