Tonight, I’m really appreciating being on this journey with you

What's better than three grandkids in mushroom pajamas? How about having them all home with their parents for the first time since the pandemic started? I'm so grateful for this blessing!

Hannah! I headed out to my favorite spot for collecting puffballs today. Sure enough, the mushrooms were there, but a bunch of little gnomes beat me to the haul! I asked them who they were, and they answered, "Ted, Ned, and Fred" and then carried on with their collecting. Can you believe it? I followed them home, and along the way I noticed they were always smiling and humming, while inspecting every mushroom they could find. I wondered to myself--do they actually know which mushrooms are poisonous and which ones are not?? I guess they do!

In the evening, after the rain, a walk to the bench for a view of Brush Mountain. And for Grace…a chance to attentively watch the bunnies grazin’ in the grass.

Once again, looking for ways to use up tomatoes! #chickencurry with noodles

I thought I heard an oriole singing outside, so I put out an orange (a little bait for a photo). The oriole never appeared, but I did reel in somebody else! #graysquirrel

Here, five views of a juvenile male hairy woodpecker. He's been living on my porch since he first fledged two weeks ago, and he definitely has a penchant for peanuts! Check out that impressive beak and red crew cut! Mom is still helping him navigate the world of birdfeeders😊

Two fresh-baked cookies per night. One for him and one for me. I GUESS you could call that a diet?

These old concrete & glass stepping stones somehow match the countless ash logs littering the property! Drinkstand anyone? #yardart
